Akara
At Akara London, Baxab®Eco in Perla delivers a refined, seamless surface that complements the restaurant’s modern Afro-fusion aesthetic—offering durability, elegance, and a commitment to sustainable craftsmanship.

Located in the heart of London’s vibrant dining scene, Akara is more than a restaurant—it’s a sensory journey inspired by the rich culinary heritage of West Africa, reimagined through a modern lens. Designed with an emphasis on texture, tone, and storytelling, the interiors of Akara serve as a refined backdrop to its bold and contemporary Afro-fusion cuisine.

To achieve a look that felt both rooted and elevated, the designers selected Topcret’s Baxab®Eco in the colour Perla. This soft, luminous grey microcement was applied seamlessly across key surface areas, contributing to a clean, tactile environment that enhances the warmth of natural wood, the elegance of brass details, and the intimate glow of curated lighting.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Baxab®Eco was chosen for its exceptional durability and environmental credentials—a natural extension of Akara’s commitment to quality and conscious design. As a VOC-free, 100% water-based, locally handcrafted material, Baxab®Eco aligns with the highest international standards for health and sustainability, including LEED, BREEAM, and WELL certifications. Its strength—three times greater than traditional microcements—ensures long-term performance even in high-traffic hospitality spaces.

By incorporating Baxab®Eco, Akara achieves a harmonious balance between visual sophistication and functional resilience. The use of Perla lends a serene, modern base that allows the space—and the experience—to breathe, reflecting the thoughtful precision behind every plate and every design choice.
