Dyno Red Oxide Primer P-3200 is a general-purpose, lead-free metal primer formulated with red iron oxide pigment and phenolic-modified alkyd resin. Designed for use on iron and steel structures, it offers economical and effective protection under normal atmospheric conditions. The primer delivers good adhesion and quick-drying performance, making it a practical choice for a variety of industrial and maintenance applications.

This product features a dark brown, matte finish and can be applied by brush, roller, or spray. It has a theoretical coverage of 40–50 square meters per gallon and builds a dry film thickness of 40–50 microns. Wet film thickness ranges between 75–95 microns, ensuring adequate coverage and durability. Drying times are efficient, with a touch-dry time of 20–30 minutes, hard dry in 4–5 hours, and recoat time ranging from 6 to 12 hours.

Dyno Red Oxide Primer P-3200 is compatible with Dyno Thinner No.1 for proper thinning and cleanup. For best results and longer-lasting protection, it is recommended to apply two coats of this primer followed by two coats of Dyno High Gloss Enamel as a topcoat.

Proper surface preparation is essential. The surface should be free from dirt, grease, waxy contaminants, loose or peeling paint. Rust or mill scale must be removed through mechanical means such as wire brushing, power tools, or sandblasting to ensure optimal coating performance.
